Fiona graduated in 1999 with a BSc in Microbiology and in 2001 with a MSc in Microbiology from National University of Ireland Galway.

She began her career as a Research Scientist in the Biotechnology Sector working in Trinity Biotech and Biotrin on product redevelopment projects. She completed a Diploma in Project Management with University of Limerick in 2008 which led her to take up project management roles in the Research office in UCD and in AquaTT where she managed an FP7 project.

In 2012, Fiona started with Trinity College Dublin where she became the Scientific Project Manager of a multicentre investigator led clinical trial called NILVAD. The NILVAD study was a five year study funded by the ECs FP7 programme and will finish in 2017.

In January 2017, Fiona joined HRB CRCI when she took up the role of the Quality and Regulatory Affairs Manager. Fiona’s role has since expanded to incorporate the Data Protection Officer and European Correspondent – ECRIN Ireland roles.
